Video Editor
We are looking for a Video Editor for pommeDeTerre content and client projects. Most assignments will be Reels and other short-form videos, but the work will not be limited to those formats. The role can grow into leading the function.
About the role
We are developing both the studio’s own video content and editing as a client service. Most assignments will involve Reels and other short-form videos, but there may also be interviews, case studies, promotional pieces, and longer formats.
The work includes selecting takes, building the video structure, making cuts and transitions, adding captions, music, and sound effects, applying basic color correction, and preparing final versions for publication. Over time, the role may grow into leading the function: processes, quality standards, hiring, and team development.
Responsibilities
- edit different video formats, primarily Reels and short-form pieces but not limited to them;
- build purposeful pacing, transitions, sound, and narrative for each goal and platform;
- turn raw footage into videos that hold attention rather than simply cutting a talking head;
- use AI video tools for generated inserts, scenes, effects, upscaling, and rotoscoping;
- propose ideas, hooks, and formats before editing begins;
- work on both studio content and client projects;
- prepare organized source files, versions, and final exports for each platform.
Video examples
These examples show what we mean. They represent several possible directions in format and editing rather than one required style.
What matters
- examples of short videos, whether commercial, educational, or personal, so we can see your editing approach;
- genuine interest in editing and readiness to develop; beginners are welcome if they already have first projects and want to learn;
- basic familiarity with any video editor — the specific software does not matter;
- interest in AI video tools and readiness to use them in real production;
- ability to manage priorities and deadlines without constant supervision.
Nice to have
- basic motion graphics and animation;
- strong on-screen typography, captions, and text timing;
- sound design and color correction;
- experience managing social accounts or working in an agency.
Growth and format
The role offers room to grow within the company: taking on more complex formats, learning new tools, and becoming more involved in developing ideas and client projects.
Over time, we want to develop video editing and content into a dedicated function. If you are interested in more than editing alone, the role may expand into building processes, shaping standards, working with other specialists, and potentially leading the function.
The role is fully remote and open to candidates in any region of Russia.
Selection process
- review of your Reels and other video examples and your contribution to each;
- conversation about pacing, sound, retention, and AI tools;
- short discussion of working format, growth, and scope;
- if needed, an agreed small paid pilot video.
