Local AI agents without cloud dependencies
A product described as local may still require remote licensing, model downloads, identity, container registries or telemetry, so autonomy must be tested with connectivity removed.
Inventory dependencies
Record models, packages, images, licences, identity, DNS, time, monitoring, backups and tools, including what happens when each external endpoint disappears.
Test installation, restart, ordinary work and recovery with outbound connectivity denied, rather than relying on a vendor architecture diagram.
Control artifact import
Bring models and software through a staging zone that checks origin, licensing, hashes, composition and security findings before assigning an immutable internal version.
Record provenance and licences during controlled import so every production artifact can be traced to an approved immutable copy.
Plan updates and rollback
Use an approved internal repository, representative test environment, quality and security checks, compatibility plan and a known previous version.
Move updates through a representative isolated test environment and retain the previous compatible model, index and application release.
Keep ordinary controls
No cloud does not prevent cross-user disclosure, malicious document instructions or secrets in logs. Permission enforcement and bounded tools remain essential.
Local operation still needs access controls, content-injection defenses and careful logs because isolation does not prevent internal disclosure.
